At the same time as the draft for the Law on Conservation, Restoration, and Management of the Country’s Wetlands was being developed, the draft of a bylaw for conservation and management of the country’s wetlands was prepared by the Iranian Department of Environment as well, which can be considered as a supplement to the mentioned Law.. In this bylaw, which contains important clauses with the aim of wetlands conservation, a number of important responsibilities have been assigned to some other organizations including the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad and the Ministry of Energy. This bylaw was also prepared with the participation of the representatives of wetland stakeholders at a national level, and after going through a long-term technical and professional evaluation, it was approved on June 23, 2015 in the relevant commissions of the cabinet, followed by being formally announced for execution.
