Gavkhoni Wetland is one of the 24 international wetlands in Iran, which
was registered in the Ramsar Convention in 1975. This wetland is one of
the natural ecosystems of Isfahan province, which is located at the end
point of Zayandehrud and as a natural ecosystem located in a dry area
has a great potential for sustainable development of the region.But in
recent years due to unfavorable hydro logical situation where a large
part of the wetlands and dry conditions for critical wetlands
accordingly. Therefore, due to the critical situation of Gavkhoni
International Wetland, it is necessary to continuously review the
conditions of this wetland and make the necessary plans in this regard
