Awarding “Wetland Champions” and “Wetland Selected Rangers” on the occasion of World Wetlands Day
The World Wetlands Day ceremony is held every year on February 2, from the date of ratification of the Wetlands Convention in Ramsar in 1971. This year, in Iran this ceremony was held in the city of Abadeh Tashtak, located in Fars province, near Bakhtegan Wetland. The ceremony was held with the presence of national, international, and local authorities and stakeholders in this field and online for all the enthusiasts, to raise awareness and knowledge among people about the wetlands.
Also, during this ceremony and according to the routine of each year, the “Wetland Champions” and the "Selected Rangers of wetlands” were introduced and awarded as follows:
- Mr. Abdul Ahad Sarbazi, worthy of receiving the title of Wetland Champion in the executive section (a deceased environmentalist who has carried out valuable activities in the field of wetland conservation in recent years)
- Nozhin Sabz Naghadeh environmental NGO, worthy of receiving the title of Wetland Champion in the section of public participation
- Miras Parishan Kazeroon NGO, worthy of receiving the title of Wetland champion in the section of public participation
- Mr. Mohammad Mohammadi, worthy of receiving the title of a Selected Wetland Ranger
- Mr. Hamed Alimardani Naghani, worthy of receiving the title of a Selected Wetland Ranger
- Mr. Abbas Ashouri, worthy of receiving the title of Wetland Champion in the scientific-research section
