Evaluating the process of managerial planning for the country’s wetlands
The national manager of Conservation of Iranian Wetlands Project informed about the observation of a half-day consulting workshop to evaluate the process of managerial planning for the country’s wetlands with the participation of the representatives of nongovernmental organizations in the Department of Environment.
The half-day consulting workshop was held this year on November 17th for the evaluation of the managerial planning for the country’s wetlands with the presence of the general manager of the Protection and Revival Office of the Country’s wetlands in the Department of Environment, the representatives of nongovernmental organizations, and the general manager of the Iranian wetlands’ protection project in the Department of Environment.
In the remainder of his speech, Ali Arvahi mentioned that “During this meeting, by the brainstorming of the meeting attendees, we made efforts to figure out the strengths and weaknesses of the process of the comprehensive managerial planning for the country’s wetlands, the reasons for advancement, and impediments to the implementation of the managerial programs with the participation of nongovernmental organizations and identify their perspectives regarding the approaches that can obviate the present problems and obstacles for the attainment of the goals of the ecosystem management programs.
He added that, in the continuation of the meeting, we attempted to make the present nongovernmental organizations introduce the areas that need the cooperation and participation of the Iranian wetlands’ protection project towards an improvement in the conditions of the country’s wetlands in future 5 years, and the outcomes of this dialogue together with the prospects of other involved individuals will be possibly predicted in the 5-year document, 2020-2025, of the Iranian wetlands’ protection project.
In the end, Arvahi mentioned that: “We hope to witness the continuation of these think tank meetings with wetland nongovernmental organizations regularly and every three months by coordinations that are fulfilled with the offices of the country’s wetland protection and revival as well as the office of public participation and social responsibilities.
