First Workshop for development of Kanibarazan Integrated Management Plan

The first workshop of Kanibarazan integrated management plan development was held in Mahabad with participation of all organizations, local communities and NGOs. While visiting the wetland, participants prepared a list of the wetland challenges and threats and discussed in order to reduce and resolve these challenges.
During the workshop challenges and threats to wetland were discussed and reviewed by stakeholders through a participatory- advisory process and Solutions for reducing and resolving wetland problems were presented.
In the forthcoming meetings management plan will be finalized through participation of stakeholders and will be handed over to provincial and local agents to be implemented.
It worth mentioning that there are more than 10 satellite wetlands of international importance in Lake Urmia basin which are invaluable habitats; integrated management plan for Ghorigol, Gharagheshlagh, Nowroozlou and Soldouz has been finalized and Kanibarazan management plan is under development.
