The Second Festival on Iranian Wetlands Conservation Initiative
The second online festival on Iranian Wetlands Conservation Initiatives emphasizing on peoples' participation for wetlands restoration with the presence of more than 40 participants was held from 16-19 November 2020 in Tabriz. This festival was hosted by CIWP with joint cooperation of Department of Environment (DOE) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in two sector: startup event and receiving innovative ideas and products.
This festival was held aiming at identifying and improving the engagement with wetlands' innovators and inventors and supporting them, recognizing and promoting the methods for modification of water and natural resources consumption patterns, strategies for restoration of countries' wetland, introducing environmental and socio-economic effects of drying wetlands and lakes as well as helping and strengthening the knowledge-based companies for idea generation and innovative products.
Roughly 10 independent ideas reached the final stage out of 60 ideas in this event. Amongst all the finalist ideas, the judging committee selected 4 of them as the premier ideas in the independent ideas sections.
Furthermore, in the start-up section, 40 participants were divided into 8 groups of 5, from which 4 ideas were selected as the best ideas in the start-up sections by the judging committee.
It is worth mentioning that CIWP is planning to support the best ideas of this event with close collaboration and participation of related organizations such as DoE, MoJA, MoE, etc.,
