Announcing 2017 wetlands champion and selected Iranian wetland’s guard on World Wetland Day/ Announcing award winners of Conservation of Iranian Wetlands Project photo contest

Following World Wetland day celebration on February 2nd 2018 in Ramsar city (Ramsar convention adoption origin) wetland champions and selected wetland guard were announced and awarded. On World Wetlands day which was celebrated in Ramsar by participation of DoE’s Director General, public and private organizations’ representatives, and wetlands champions and guards were rewarded. Wetland’s champion announcement is held annually on World Wetland day to recognize, collect and categorize optimal wetlands ecosystem conservation best practices and to disseminate wetland culture at different levels of the country.
Awards are granted in three categorizations of research and study, executive activities and public participation. This year the outstanding actions taken by legal and real entity in different areas were selected and announced as below:
In public participation: immigrant swans association was announced as wetland’s champion.
In Executive activities: Markazi province power Distribution Company and Mr. Bahman Parvaresh were commended.
In research and Study: Mr. Davood Gholami and Hamoon international wetland research institute were commended.

On this day Mr. Hassan Aqa Shir Mohammadi from Khoestan provincial office was announced as selected wetland guard.
On the sideline of World Wetland day an exhibition of selected photos of CIWP wetland photo contest was held.
In the celebration winners were announced and rewarded as below:
First place: Ms. Shima Mousavi, Khozestan Province
Second place: Mr. Akbar Ghasempour, Mazandaran Province
Third place: Mr. Jalal Pezashk, Kordestan province
