Wetlands are effective not only in the local people’s life, but also in the life of the people living in remote regions. Can you believe that the destruction of a wetland in a part of Iran led to the changed social texture of another region of the country? Is it believable that destruction of a wetland led to the loss of billions dollars for the Iranian government? Is this fact acceptable that the lack of a wetland has significantly damaged the agriculture sector of a region? Unfortunately, these unfavorable incidents occurred with the Hamoon Wetland drying in Sistan and Baluchestan. The ecologic and economic benefits of wetlands include water generation and storage, preservation of the biodiversity of plants and animals, inhibition of flood and water treatment, creating a tourism zone, food supply, and fish and bird product supply.
